Hi, I’m Michelle. I have completed my Bachelor of Music degree in Jazz Performance Studies at the University of Toronto. My love for music began at the age of 10, when I started working with my elementary school choir. I have been teaching since May 2023 and have been passionate about it ever since. I have had the opportunity to work with a diverse range of students of all ages, as well as those with disabilities, since I began my teaching journey. I strive to maintain a fun and lighthearted teaching style while still ensuring a structured approach to learning. I start each lesson with a warm-up, followed by ear training exercises, theory, and, of course, singing songs of various styles. I have a background in classical (RCM), musical theatre, pop and Jazz, but I enjoy singing and teaching all kinds of music. Since then, I have had many performance opportunities throughout the years. I have performed in various spaces, such as auditoriums and restaurants, where I have had to create set lists and organise rehearsals with a live band.. Outside of teaching and performing, I enjoy activities such as roller skating, arts and crafts, and swimming, as well as spending time with my dogs, Junior and Zoey.
